Centralized SCADA System for Borehole Monitoring
Real-time monitoring solution for multiple borehole systems with comprehensive data logging and advanced analytics.
Project Overview
We engineered a centralized SCADA solution for monitoring multiple borehole systems (10+ locations), providing real-time visibility of water production and consumption. The system includes comprehensive data logging and reporting with monitoring of key parameters such as water level, flowrate, pump speed, conductivity, and turbidity, with integrated alarm management.
Project Challenge
The water utility faced challenges in monitoring dispersed borehole locations across a wide geographical area. Manual monitoring was inefficient, and there was no centralized platform for data collection, analysis, or reporting. They needed a comprehensive system to optimize water production and quickly identify anomalies.
System Architecture
Our solution included:
Local PLC Stations
Individual Siemens TIA Portal-based PLC controllers at each borehole location for local control and data acquisition.
Centralized SCADA Server
Industrial-grade SCADA platform with high-availability architecture for real-time monitoring and control of all locations.
Data Acquisition & Logging
Continuous data collection with multiple reporting intervals (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly) for historical analysis.
Instrumentation Integration
Integration of water level sensors, flow meters, pressure transducers, conductivity and turbidity sensors with real-time calibration.
